Recipe: Sand Torte Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups sugar

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Cream butter and sugar.

Instructions

  1. Add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
  2. Stir in sour cream.
  3. Add flour and baking powder which have been sifted together.
  4. Blend in vanilla, Pour into greased and floured bundt or tube pan.
  5. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 Degrees F or until tests done.
  6. Do not over bake. When fully cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  7. Wrap in plastic and let stand 24 hours before serving.
  8. Serves: 12 to 16
