Summary: Use this Hash as a Filler for Tacos, Empanaditas or as a Side Dish


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 10 1/2-ounce can tomato puree
  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and chopped

  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup snipped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped toasted almonds
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper


  1. In 10-inch skillet cook ground beef, onion, and garlic till meat is brown and onion is tender.
  2. Drain off excess tat.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover; simmer 20 to 25 minutes.
