Recipe: Arroz Con Jocoque – Rice With Sour Cream

Summary: A Delicious and Easy to Make Side Dish


  • 3/4 pound jack cheese

  • 3 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups green chiles, diced
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded


  1. Cut jack cheese into strips.
  2. Mix together sour cream and chiles.
  3. Butter a 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  4. Layer rice, sour cream mixture and cheese strips; repeat, finishing with rice on top.
  5. Bake, covered at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. During last few minutes of baking, sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  7. Serves 6
