Recipe: Green Chili Sauce – Salsa de Chile Verde
Ingredients
- 1 medium tomato, peeled and cut up
- 4-ounce can green chili peppers, rinsed and seeded
- 1 small onion, cut up
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 to 2 tablespoons snipped cilantro or parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- A dash of pepper
Instructions
- In blender container combine tomato, chili peppers, onion, garlic, cilantro or parsley, oil, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and blend till nearly smooth.
- Pour into small saucepan; bring to boiling.
- Reduce heat; cook and stir over medium heat about 5 minutes or till slightly thickened.
